FAQ
Why should I sell to Helping Houses?
You have a house you no longer need or want. We can help. When you get an offer from us, you can rest assured that we won't renegotiate, we don't perform inspections, and we won't ask you to make repairs. Bottom line: We do what we say we're going to do, and we stand behind our offer.
How do I know you're not just going to "flip" my house to someone else?
Our company was founded on the principles of helping homeowners get the most for their home, and then renovating and placing it back into the community. We do that by cutting out the middle-man and going directly to you the homeowner.
How did you come up with your offer amount?
We have a proven formula and process that uses realtime market values, taking into account the condition of the house and other variables. After factoring the associated cost of repairs and maintenance, we generate the best offer possible.
What if I am behind on my mortgage payments, will you still buy it?
We have purchased many homes that have had liens, judgments, or other title issues. We are occassionally able to negotiate these amounts, putting even more money in your pocket! It is critical to know about any judgments or liens as early as possible to save valuable time and keep the process moving forward.
How quickly can you close?
We regularly close in 10-21 days, but if you need more or less time, we can find ways to accommodate. We will work with your timeline to ensure your individual needs are met as much as possible.
What if I need extra time to move out?
Whether the proceeds of the sale are needed for a new purchase, or you just need the extra time to coordinate the move, we can accommodate a move-out that fits your schedule. This is often through a lease back in which we are able to rent the house back to you for a period of time after closing. We may hold back a portion of the sale proceeds until the move-out is complete, at which point the full proceeds will be released to you.
What can I expect during the in-person consultation?
Our professional and courteous team members will arrive prepared and on time. We will spend the majority of our time observing the condition of the house and answering questions you may have. At the conclusion of the meeting, we will share next steps, including our offer.
Do you pay closing costs?
YES! We pay closing costs every time. No questions asked.
